We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Supervisor to join our growing dermatology practice. With 2 locations in Edmonton, the ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and managing staff performance. This position requires a strong background in clinical settings, clinic operations and familiarity with electronic medical records. The Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for working with our current administrative leadership team, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient safety and effective communication among healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support clinical staff, including nurses, clinical research and administrative personnel, to ensure efficient operations within the dermatology offices.
- Oversee patient care processes, ensuring adherence to medical protocols and standards of practice.
- Manage scheduling, staffing, and training of clinical personnel to meet operational needs.
- Collaborate with other departments to maintain effective communication and coordination of care.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies related to patient care and safety.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to promote professional development.
- Assist Staff Accountant with budgeting, payroll and resource allocation for clinical services to optimize operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure proper documentation of patient interactions.
- Stay updated on medical terminology, best practices, and advancements in healthcare delivery.
- Take direction from Medical Director and Director of Operations on additional clinic tasks and needs, as required
Qualifications
- Senior medical office assistant for more than 5 years or previous clinic supervisory roles; dermatology experience preferred
- Nurses also welcome and encouraged to apply – active nursing license with experience in dermatology preferred
- Proven experience in supervising clinical staff within a hospital or medical office environment.
- Strong knowledge of electronic medical records systems and medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead teams effectively.
- Experience in human resources functions such as hiring, training, and performance management is a plus.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes within a healthcare context is desirable.
