Eczema

Here at VIDA Dermatology, we are ready to help you manage your eczema. Dr. Kurian and our team of experts will provide you with a comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of your skin and also discuss all the treatment options such as moisturizer selection, discussion of clothing choices, humidifiers, and other behaviors that affect skin hydration, and physician-grade skin products exclusive to our clinic. In some cases, prescription creams are required and occasionally pills are as well in order to treat the itch and/or infection.

Eczema is a very common skin condition that causes patches of inflammation, itchiness, scaly and cracked skin. While some people will outgrow the condition, some may continue to experience flares throughout their lives.

Here are also some of Dr. Kurian's top tips to help prevent flares:
- Use gentle soaps! Our favourite is La Roche Posay Syndet Body Cleansing Cream.
- Moisturize your skin at least 2 times a day. Dr. Kurian likes to follow Syndet Body Cleansing Cream with La Roche Posay Lipikar Baume.
- Wear loose, soft cotton clothes or other breathable fabrics. No scratchy fibers!
- Keep a journal to identify any triggers that may worsen your condition.
