What are Skin Tags

Skin tags are small, soft growths usually on the neck, eyelids, upper trunk and body folds. They can develop on anyone, but are more common as we age. Skin tags are typically harmless, however, can be a nuisance or effect a person’s self-esteem when they are located in highly visible areas.

A medical assessment is first made by our certified Dermatologists to ensure the skin tags/growths are benign. The removal of a benign (non-cancerous) growth is considered a cosmetic service. Cosmetic services are not covered by Alberta Health Care and will be charged to the patient directly. Patients may, however, have this service potentially covered under their own private insurance plans.

At VIDA, we will discuss the best treatment options when you are looking to remove your skin tags safely and completely.
