Frequently Asked Questions

According to Alberta Health guidelines, to be seen by our dermatologist for any medical skin condition covered by Alberta Healthcare, patients must have a referral from a licensed Canadian physician (i.e. Family Physician).

Once our office has received a referral, our referral coordinator will triage your referral based on urgency and book accordingly. When your appointment is booked, you will be contacted by our office with your appointment information. If we do not receive a referral from your physician, you will not obtain an appointment. If you have received an appointment we ask that you call our office to confirm your appointment.

NOTE: For cosmetic concerns such as skincare, injectables, laser hair removal, tattoo removal, pigmentation, texture, fine lines and wrinkles, and skin tightening, body contouring, a referral is not necessary. However, you will be assessed by our team to ensure you meet criteria for safety and align treatments effectively. Walk-In Appointments

In accordance with Alberta Health guidelines, our physicians do not accept walk-ins.

We understand that sometimes things happen and you need to reschedule your appointment, please feel free to call our office at 780-761-VIDA (8432) with at least 48 hours notice and we would be happy to rebook you at the next available time.

Please note that by rescheduling your appointment it may be a longer waiting time for the next appointment. Once you have cancelled your appointment, please note that your appointment will be filled with another patient immediately after you have cancelled it.

Please note that if you cancel your appointment 3 consecutive times, your referral will be returned to your referring physician and your referring physician will be notified that you have cancelled your appointments. After this, you will no longer be able to book an appointment at our clinic until we receive an updated referral from your referring physician.

There will be a $100.00 missed appointment fee for all aesthetic and medical bookings, so please be sure to cancel your appointment with notice if you are unable to attend.

Please note that if you miss your appointment 3 consecutive times, you will no longer be able to book an aesthetic appointment at our clinic, and you will not be able to book another medical appointment until we receive an updated referral from your referring physician.
